A while back I wrote a blog post about the sequel to the Phantom of the Opera called 'Love Never Dies' (see comments for a link to that post).

Recently there have been a lot of updates about this new musical so I thought I'd pass on the news.

It's definitely based on the Phantom of Manhattan book by Frederick Forsyth (dear oh dear) and an article on the Daily Mail website (link in the comments again) suggests the audience will be treated to the infamous automaton scene where the Phantom makes love to a life-size Christine robot...*shakes head in disbelief*

On the concept album, John Barrowman (Torchwood star) sings the part of Raoul and the two main parts for the Westend stage show have been given to Sierra Boggess (Christine) and Ramin Karimloo (the Phantom). Check out the second attached picture to see what they look like.

The date of release has been delayed. It's not going to be ready for Autumn of this year but the latest reports say "early in 2010".
